Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the opinion of the respondents regarding the
work environment and the effect of the work environment (X) on the performance of the
waitress (Y) at the Grand Mercure Hotel Medan Angkasa in the Food and Beverage
Department. This study uses a quantitative sampling technique with 15 respondents from
the Grand Mercure Hotel Medan Angkasa, followed by data analysis using SPSS version
25 for Windows. The results of the analysis of the coefficient of determination stated that
the R Square value was 0.786, or 78.6%. The waitress's service efficiency at the Grand
Mercure Hotel Medan Angkasa, while the remaining 21.4% is influenced by other
variables. One of the recommendations that can be used by the Grand Mercure Hotel
Medan Angkasa to improve the quality of the work environment is to strengthen
cooperation between groups. By communicating the company's vision and mission to
group members, we can respect different opinions. carry out intensive and effective
communication and collaborative activities.
