Abstract

The research was conducted to find out how rewards and punishments can affect the work motivation of employees at Karibia Boutique Hotel Medan. Rewarding and punishing employees aims as a tool to increase their motivation so that employees will give their best and achieve the company’s goals. The sample for this survey is the entire population, employees of Karibia Boutique Hotel Medan total 82 people. The way to collecting data is to use questionaire and processed with SPSS Ver.25 for Windows. The coefficient of determination test shows that the two X variables affect epmloyees motivation by 42,5% and the other 57,5 affected by variables that are not in this research. This explains that rewarding and punishing system for employees give positive impact on employees work motivation.
